Kindly

Kindly she talked, smiled to me,
And left my legs languid, and my heart
Racing to catch its breath, and breathe
Every air that she breathed, and mark
Never ending words I speak
with one: Love

Ten marks may in my heart complete,
Every mark that cried my heart, my love
to her and all my dead loves
are only grains of light
in the great sunshine that lightens
my very soul that I call
Her smile.

Never did I see, Or could I
imagine such a smile
That made my love so high
that I should spread,
that only fools can deny.
