Anchor Books

This poem was accepted to be published in the forthcoming anthology by Anchors Books. My name may be one of those included in this international book.

Mother’s Eyes

My heart is cold,
Like mother’s eyes,
Cold as roses dying,
Filled with hate, with lies.

My eyes are not,
Not like mother’s eyes,
A lie in a lie,
Like mother’s eyes.

But mine had not been done,
Done by mother’s eyes,
A glance, a glare had not been one,
But I tell thee to see,
To look,
Look at mother’s eyes,
And you will never be.

Thy love had not been seen,
Seen by mother’s eyes,
For what could, what would, and what will,
Go through such shut gates, such hate,
Like eyes.

Like mother’s eyes.
